Sylvia Main

Sylvia is a bestselling author, cook and inn keeper at Fairholme Manor in Victoria BC. The following biography is from the Fabulous Fairholme: Breakfasts & Brunches Cookbook:

“Sylvia Main was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. She moved to Canada with her family as a teenager, and received her BA in Languages and Literature from the University of Victoria.

She has lived and traveled in Europe, where she is continuously inspired by the lifestyle and beautiful surroundings. She speaks English, German, Spanish, French and Italian.

Sylvia took her talents to the Fairmont Empress Hotel where she was in Guest Services for a number of years. In 1991, she married Roscoe Main, and the couple opened Fairholme Manor in Victoria’s Rockland Estates area in 1999. Over the years, they have lovingly transformed their ugly duckling mansion into a beautifully restored European Inn.

Sylvia and Roscoe have two daughters, Simone and Nicola.”
